Viruses |
A Virus is a small
program or piece of computer code that can be loaded onto your
computer without your knowledge and runs against your wishes. All
computer viruses are manmade and in some cases they can also
replicate themselves. A simple virus that can make a copy of itself
over and over again is relatively easy to produce. Even such a
simple virus is dangerous because it will quickly use all available
memory and bring the system to a halt. An even more dangerous type
of virus is one capable of transmitting itself across networks and
bypassing security systems.
Here are some anti virus resource sites. These sites contain
various information and resources to combat the latest crop of
computer viruses:

Hoaxes |
Other than viruses
we are also vulnerable to what is known as Hoaxes. These are
communications or contacts by unscrupulous people especially
designed to deceive and lurer the recipient into parting with
important personal information eg: bank account numbers etc. or a
fictitious plea to send money or to follow an instruction which
could delete data from your computer. Whatever the latest ploy
might be the following sites will have information about
it.
